PROGRAM FOR JUNE

 The Worshipful Master has invited Brother John D. Killian, a Member of Harrisburg Lodge No. 629 to be the speaker for June. Brother Killian will speak on “The War that Never Happened”.

 There will be a dinner before Lodge on the lower level beginning at 5:45 P.M. Dinner will consist of Chicken and Beef K-Bobs. Dinner is open to all Members and their Masonic friends.  If you are planning to attend the dinner, please make reservations by calling the Secretary at (717) 652-4622 or e-mailing to secretary@RobertBurns464.org by June 13, 2010. Contributions will be accepted for dinner.

This month is also the Traditional month of Strawberries and the usual feast of berries will be immediately following the close of Lodge.  Plan now to attend this evening of Masonic Fellowship and be sure to invite your Masonic friends.

An Extra Meeting of Robert Burns Lodge No. 464, Free and Accepted Masons, for conferring degrees will be held in the Masonic Temple, 2701 North Third Street, Harrisburg, Pa on, MONDAY June 21, 2010 at 7:00 P.M.

The Entered Apprentice Masons Degree will be conferred upon; 3 Candidates

Robert Burns Lodge will be hosting a Family Hockey Night with the Hershey Bears on a Saturday Night in October, date to be determined.  This event will be opened to the entire family, Masons and non-Masons alike. The home schedule for the Bears should be out in June or July.  At that time an exact date will be determined. Tickets will only be on sale for a limited time.  If you are interested and would like to sign up for this event over the summer, please contact the Secretary or Worshipful Master leaving your contact information, preferably your e-mail address, and we will contact you as soon as a date and cost are established.  This is an event you can bring the wife and children to and enjoy an evening of great hockey with the Bears as well as great fellowship with your Brothers and their families. It is also an event that you can introduce non-masons to the fellowship of the fraternity.

The Worshipful Master has invited Brother Carl E. Karstetter, P.M. to be the speaker for the evening.  Brother Karstetter (USMC) will speak on “Reflections of Service to Our Country”. What better way to begin your celebration of Memorial Day than to attend this presentation.

Brethren, please note that the Extra Meeting for May will be held at the Masonic Temple at the Masonic Homes in Elizabethtown, Pa. It will be held on Tuesday Evening beginning at 7:00 pm rather that our customary Monday Evening.  We are inviting all Master Masons, more especially our Members and Guests at the Villages to attend.  Let’s have a good turn out for this special occasion.

Make plans now to attend the Second Annual Family Picnic at Allenberry Meadow Resort on the Yellow Breeches Creek on Saturday July 17, 2010.  This is an event for the whole family.  Plan now to join your Masonic Brethren and their families for an afternoon of games, entertainment, food and fellowship.  Cost will be $17.00 for Adults and $8.50 for children 5- 12.  Children 4 and under are free. More information will be in the June Notice.

There will be a Group Mentoring Session held on Thursday Evening, May 27th at 7:00 pm. in the Library at the Consistory Building. This is recommended for all newly raised Master Masons and will also be open to any Master Mason who wishes to further his knowledge of Freemasonry.
