A Stated Meeting of Robert Burns Lodge No. 464, Free and Accepted Masons, will be held in the Masonic Temple, 2701 North Third Street, Harrisburg, Pa on, THURSDAY EVENING, March 17, 2011 at 7:00 o’clock P.M.

PROGRAM FOR MARCH

The Worshipful Master has set aside this meeting to honor the Floor Workers, Mentoring Committee and the Visitation and Cheer Committee.  They will be honored with dinner before Lodge on the lower level beginning at 5:45 P.M. The dinner will be opened to all members.  If you are planning to attend the dinner, please make reservations by calling the Secretary at (717) 652-4622 or e-mailing to saldlw@juno.com by March 13, 2011. Contributions will be accepted for dinner.

The Worshipful Master has invited Brother D. Ronald Kerns, of Robert Burns to be the speaker for the evening.  His presentation will be “An Introduction to Eastern Star”.

Annual Banquet

The one hundred forty first Anniversary Banquet of Robert Burns Lodge No. 464, F & A M will be celebrated with a table lodge in the Ballroom of the Harrisburg Consistory Building, 2701 North Third Street, Harrisburg, Pa on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, beginning at 6:30 p.m..  Invite your Masonic friends and purchase your tickets today so you can enjoy this evening of Masonic Fellowship.

This year breakfast will be served on the Lower floor at 8:00 am for those who will be helping with Banquet set-up.  If you are planning to attend, please make your reservation by calling the Secretary at 652-4622 or e-mail at saldlw@juno.com. Deadline for reservations is Monday March 21.  There will be a nominal charge.

A Sectional Meeting of the School of Instruction for Region 2 will be held on Saturday April 2, 2011.  Registration begins at 8:00 A.M. All Lodge Officers, Floor Workers, School Officers and Instructors are expected to attend.  All Master Masons are welcomed to attend.  Lunch will be served.  Lunch tickets will cost $ 7.50 per person.  Advanced reservations with payment are required.  Please determine the number of members for lunch and send your check made out to the Harrisburg School of Instruction to Brother Jeffrey T. Shank, 54 West Roosevelt Ave, Middletown, Pa 17057 no later than March 28, 2011.

The Mentoring Committee of Robert Burns Lodge is holding sessions for newly Raised Master Masons and any Master Mason with an interest in learning more about our great Fraternity.  They meet the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm in the library of the Consistory Building.  Everyone with an interest in learning more about Masonry is invited to attend.

YOUR DUES FOR 2011 ARE DUE AND PAYABLE NOW

2011 Dues Statements were sent out in October.  If you are not a 50 year member or a Life Member you dues need to be paid now.  If you have not paid your dues for 2011, please remit them now to the Secretary at P. O. Box 90235, Harrisburg, Pa 17109-0235. Your prompt attention to the payment of your dues is always appreciated by your Secretary. Dues must be paid by April 21, 2011 to avoid suspension.

In the Tradition of Robert Burns Lodge, the Annual Feast will be held on the lower level beginning at 5:45 P.M. for all members of Robert Burns. If you are planning to attend the dinner, please make reservations by calling the Secretary at (717) 652-4622 or e-mailing to saldlw@juno.com by December 12.

The Lodge Meeting in the Blue Room of the Temple will be devoted to the annual election of officers to serve the Lodge for the 2011 Masonic Year beginning on St. Johns Day next. Immediately following the election, the new officers will be installed.

Plan on attending to celebrate the Holiday Season with your Brethren and to take part in the election of your Lodge Officers.

The following is printed in accordance with Decision 70.2 of the Digest of Decisions.

“The solicitation of a petitioner for initiation and membership in an organization which has as a prerequisite, membership in the Masonic Fraternity, is forbidden before he has received the Degree of a Master Mason, or upon the same night. This is considered as conduct unbecoming a Mason. This decision must be published annually in the Lodge notice.”
