Stated Meeting

 

A Stated Meeting of Robert Burns Lodge No. 464, Free and Accepted Masons, will be held in the Masonic Temple, 2701 North Third Street, Harrisburg, Pa on, Thursday Evening, March 19th, 2015 at 7:00 P.M.

Action will be had on two petitions for initiation and membership.

Program for March

 

This evening District Deputy Grand Master, Brother Jeffrey C. Lehman, will honor us with his presence and present the New Fifty Year Members with their Gold Pins from Grand Lodge as well as the new Sixty Year Members with their pins. Those receiving Awards will be honored with a dinner before Lodge on the lower level beginning at 5:45 P.M. The dinner will be opened to all members. If you are planning to attend the dinner, please make reservations by calling the Secretary at 652-4622 or by e-mail at saldlw@juno.com. Please make your reservations by March 15th. Contributions for dinner will be accepted.

The Fellow Craft Masons Degree will be conferred upon two candidates.

CPR Class

Robert Burns will be sponsoring a CPR Class on Saturday, April 4th from 9:00 till noon. Class will be open to all Officers and Members and will be at no coast to you. However, there is a limited number of spaces available so let the Secretary know as soon as possible if you are interested in attending. You can call at 652-4622 or e-mail to saldlw@juno.com. This is an excellent class and is indispensable in today’s society. Be prepared to help someone in need of medical assistance.

Sectional School of Instruction

A Sectional Meeting of the School of Instruction for District 1, 2, 3, 7 and 42 will be held on Saturday March 28, 2015 at the Carlisle Masonic Center, 1236 Holly Pike, Carlisle, Pa. Registration begins at 7:30 A.M. All Lodge Officers, Floor Workers, School Officers and Instructors are expected to attend. All Master Masons are welcomed to attend. Lunch will be served. Lunch tickets will cost $ 6.00 per person. Reservations can be sent to Brother Trent Anderson, P.O. Box 1394, Carlisle, Pa 17013. Please make all lunch checks payable to Cumberland Star Lodge No. 197. Reservations must be received no later than March 23, 2015

Anniversary Banquet

The one hundred forty fifth Anniversary Banquet of Robert Burns Lodge No. 464, F & A M will be celebrated with a table lodge in the Ballroom of the Harrisburg Consistory Building, 2701 North Third Street, Harrisburg, Pa on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, beginning at 6:30 pm.
A separate mailing was made this year concerning the Banquet. Additional information plus a reservation form was enclosed. If you did not receive it, please let your secretary know.
Those of you helping with set-up who would like to meet at the Front Street Diner at 8:00 am for breakfast, should call the Secretary at 652-4622 or e-mail at saldlw@juno.com. by Sunday March 22, so proper arrangements can be made.

Program for September

 

The Worshipful Master has invited Brother Thomas O. Morgan, P.M., to offer a presentation titled “Freemasonry in the Media: Impressions & Trivia of Freemasonry as portrayed on TV shows and in the movies.” Prior to Lodge, the Worshipful Master has scheduled a fellowship dinner, featuring tilapia or pork roast, open to all Members in the lower level beginning at 5:45 P.M. To select your entree, please make reservations by calling the by September 14. Contributions will be accepted for dinner

This also is the Traditional month of Peaches and the usual feast of peaches will be held immediately following the close of Lodge. Plan now to attend this evening of Masonic Fellowship and be sure to invite your Masonic friends.

One Day Class

A One-Day Class has been scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2014, for those Lodges in the Second Masonic District. In order to be eligible to participate, petitions must be presented and read at the Stated Meeting on September 18, 2014. If you need a petition, please contact the Secretary.

Annual Dues

There will be a separate mailing for the annual dues notice again this year. Look for it at the beginning of October. All Life Members and 50-Year Members will receive their dues cards for 2015 at that time, and should not receive a dues notice letter. Please inform the Secretary if you do not receive the correct mailing. Dues for 2015 dues will be $80.00, and should be paid by check or money order made payable to “Robert Burns Lodge No. 464,” and mailed to the Secretary’s address on the back of this notice.

The Brethren are reminded to contact Brother Ted Shumaker if you know of a Lodge Brother who is ill, hospitalized or a resident of a nursing facility.  This will help the Committee on Cheer and Visitation to do their work.
